Aggregate exists to design architecture that uplifts people and places in the context of community resilience and community benefit through civic projects. We aggregate ideas, perspectives, and community voices into a unified design that doesn’t deny constraints but seeks positive transformation. We believe that a dignified built environment, designed with empathy and optimism, shapes opportunity, identity, and long-term neighborhood resilience.
Aggregate Studio aims for architecture that improves lives, translating the real needs of end users and communities into dignified built outcomes through both deep empathy and rigorous technical expertise. Our design process is rooted in community identity and local history, driven by the belief that understanding what people need is only half the work; knowing how to deliver it is the other. We have a culture of curiosity and innovation, including researching better solutions, pursuing design competitions, and empowering teams to explore bold ideas. Grounded technical knowledge keeps creative exploration viable and actionable, particularly when facing the complex, systematic challenges of civic projects.
As a design partner, we bring many voices together, aggregating ideas, perspectives, and community into a unified design that uplifts people and places in the context of housing equity, community resilience, and civic benefit. With our experience working with non-profits and community land trusts, our lived experience in substandard housing, and our principal-led project delivery, Aggregate Studio is uniquely positioned to be a design partner on meaningful, community-centered projects.
“He (Josh) has committed his career thus far to dignified architecture for all; home that connect neighbors, build community, and civitas. He is working to create pride in place, and helping everyone who lives, works, or plays there to understand where they are from, and where that may lead.”
