AIA Chicago’s Architects in Schools Initiative is an 8-week program that introduces middle schoolers to the world of architecture and design. Run by the Community Engagement Affinity Group, this program supports their goal to empower communities through design and connect architects with passionate causes. Katia spent eight weeks in a CPS middle school, teaching students about architectural drawings, basics of the design process, and resulting in students designing their own original projects and building representative models.
